In A Hole

This blogger explains why Ron Paul was right about blowback, and points out many other conservatives (including in the administration) who have expressed the same idea.
So why is the Right attacking him so viciously? He's been smeared and ridiculed on Fox; some in the GOP want him removed from future debates; the crowd applauded at Rudy's indignant twisting of Paul's words; this blogger lists several more examples. He's being labeled a "blame-America-first" liberal, a sort of traitor-lite in the now-mainstream lingo of Ann Coulter types. All the while, they're eulogizing a man who actually did blame America for 9/11.

Maybe they're attacking him because the neocon-Christian right is now cornered and desperate, eager to shoot any easy target they can. Or maybe because they're afraid he may be right...but that gives them too much credit: I don't think Hannity, Coulter & Co have the intellectual honesty even in their own minds to look objectively at what he's saying. It could be because they're afraid having him up there will make the party look stupid. But he only looks stupid to them. Most other people probably see that he has a point.
